Ever wonder how MSNBC’s Al Sharpton has been able to lose so much weight over the last several years? A new profile in the New York Daily News reveals the one major thing he cut from his diet: dinner.
“It’s not simply that he hasn’t had any sweets in years,” the Daily News’ Justin Rocket Silverman writes. “He hasn’t had dinner in years, either.” Sharpton has reportedly gone from a high of 305 pounds all the way down to precisely 129.6, without the use of methods like surgery or diet pills.
“I could take all the cartoons in the tabloid newspapers, but I couldn’t take my daughter punching me in the belly and asking why I was so fat,” Sharpton said.. “That was my inspiration to lose the weight. And probably the last time anyone hurt my feelings.”
Sharpton reportedly went from eating fried chicken three times a day as early as six years ago, to eating a single salad for lunch all day, every day. “I was absolutely content just doing the salad,” he said. “As a kid who grew up chubby, I just marveled at the fact that I could be thin.”
