After winning the 2016 college football national championship Monday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide accidentally left its offensive coordinator behind at The University of Phoenix Stadium.
The Twitter account for ESPN’s College GameDay tweeted out a picture of Lane Kiffin.

The incident provoked unpleasant memories for Kiffin. The last time he was in Phoenix in 2011, he coached his last game for the USC Trojans in a loss against the Arizona State Sun Devils. Kiffin was pulled aside when the team landed in Los Angeles and fired while the team buses left without him, leaving him stranded at the airport.
“First, I get fired on the tarmac, and now I get left behind at the national championship,” Kiffin said “half-jokingly” to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, who watched Kiffin desperately trying to flag down the last bus.
