Vice President Joe Biden has been part of the Executive Branch of the United States for nearly four years, but astoundingly, he remains an enigma to much of the state of South Carolina, according to a survey by researchers at Winthrop University.
“29.3% of South Carolinian adults could not “accurately identify who the current vice president—Joe Biden—is. Almost one-quarter (23 percent) couldn’t remember who the vice president is; 3.3 percent supplied the incorrect name; and 3 percent named Dick Cheney.”
Biden has often had to deal with significant percentages of the American public being unaware he is the Vice President. In 2010, a Pew Research Poll found that 41% of Americans could not identify Biden as Vice President.
