House candidate Wendy Rogers is now the second GOP candidate who’s used images of ISIS executing James Foley in an ad, and we are amazed that there are two people who thought this was a good idea.
In the ad, a narrator paints Rogers’ opponent, Arizona Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D), as “allowing her liberal agenda to get in the way of our security,” citing her voting record on Guantanamo detainees.
“Terrorists threats are growing. Are we secure? Are we protected?” he says, over footage of Foley minutes before his execution. “Keeping us safe and secure is Congress’s job. Kyrsten Sinema hasn’t done her job.”
According to The Hill, Rogers, a former Air Force lieutenant colonel, is likely the first candidate to use actual footage from the ISIS video, which depicts ISIS’s first execution of a photojournalist. Previously, Allen Weh, a longshot Senate candidate running in New Mexico, had used a still image from the video in a similar ad against Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM).
Wendy Rogers is probably going to lose.
