Ari Fleischer: Obama Got ‘Soft’ Coverage for 8 Years and Now the Media’s Changing Its Tune

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer reacted to the recent calls for adversarial journalism in the Trump era by saying it’s a pretty clear indication of how the press wasn’t as adversarial in the past eight years.

In the debut of Fox’s new program The First 100 Days tonight, Fleischer told host Martha MacCallum that “the coverage for 8 years was soft,” even going all the way back to when President Obama was a candidate for office, and now that Trump is getting into office, people in the press “want to change their tune.”

That being said, Fleischer did admit he would have a problem with the Trump administration trying to move the press corps out of the White House, as a recent report suggested.

He said, “I would object if they tried to get rid of the White House press corps from the West Wing.”
