The leader of an armed protest outside an Islamic center in Irving, Texas published the names and addresses of several local area Muslims and supporters on Facebook.
According to the Dallas Morning News, David Wright III copy and pasted the text from a city document detailing a failed city council vote to block the feared influence of Sharia law and other foreign legal systems. The document includes the names and addresses of dozens of Islamic Center of Irving members, local Muslims and supporters.
“The name and address of every Muslim and Muslim sympathizer that stood up for Sharia tribunals in Irving, TX [is] listed below,” the post began.
In a subsequent posted, Wright wrote that Americans “should stop being afraid to be who we are,” people who “like to have guns designed to kill people that pose a threat in a very efficient manner.”
Wright and members of a group calling itself the Bureau on American Islamic Relations (BAIR) protested outside of Irving’s Islamic center on Saturday. In addition to the usual flag-waiving, signs and standing around, however, Wright’s protest included several military veterans and enthusiasts carrying assault rifles and similar weapons.
Irving is the same city where former MacArthur High School freshman Ahmed Mohamed was arrested and suspended for bringing a homemade clock to school.
