Axios’s Jonathan Swan Erupts on Gabe Sherman Over Rosenstein Report: ‘This is Such Disgraceful Bullsh*t’
Axios’s Jonathan Swan absolutely tore into Gabriel Sherman of Vanity Fair Monday — accusing him of “doing stenography” for former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
Swan, on Monday morning, reported that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President [Donald] Trump.” (The post was subsequently updated to read that Rosenstein “verbally ‘offered to resign.'”)
Sherman referenced Swan’s report in a piece published Monday afternoon, calling it a “smoke bomb,” and reporting that President Donald Trump wanted to sack Rosenstein to drive the Brett Kavanaugh story out of the news.
Swan, clearly, did not appreciate the assertions in Sherman’s piece, and proceeded to slam him on Twitter.
“This is such disgraceful bullshit,” Swan wrote. “@gabrielsherman should be ashamed of himself and should stop doing stenography for Steve Bannon. Rosenstein offered his resignation to Kelly. We wrote “verbally resigned.” Justice Dept isn’t denying he offered his resignation.”
