Barnes & Noble Also Backs Cruz over NY Times: ‘No Evidence’ of Bulk Sales

Barnes NobleYet another publishing industry giant has reviewed its sales data for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz‘s new book “A Time for Truth” and found no evidence of bulk sales.

Cruz is in the midst of a heated feud with The New York Times over the paper’s refusal to add his book to their bestsellers list. The Times argued that after examining sales data, they had concluded that the “overwhelming preponderance of the evidence” pointed towards bulk purchases, disqualifying Cruz from the list.

But yesterday, the nation’s largest chain of bookstores Barnes & Noble said in a statement to CNNMoney that “the company has seen no evidence of bulk sales for ‘A Time for Truth.'” Other respected publishing companies, include Amazon and Cruz’s publisher HarperCollins, have also said they reviewed the sales data and saw no evidence of bulk sales. Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today have kept Cruz’s book on their bestsellers list, both of which exclude bulk sales.
