Beck: ‘I’m Not a Fan of Mike Huckabee,’ but the Media’s ‘Being Divisive with Lies’ About Him

Glenn Beck admitted today, “I am not a fan of Mike Huckabee” and said he would be “wrong for America,” but he still leaped to Huckabee’s defense after his comments about birth control were taken out-of-context in the media. To Beck, this is entirely representative of his big problems with the media and their complete “lack of self-reflection on what role they play.”

Beck reminded the audience that after he admitted he “played a role in helping tear the country apart,” the media went bananas, but rarely do they ever wonder about their own roles in hurting the country. Beck said by taking Huckabee out-of-context, “This is being divisive with lies, and once you’re divisive with lies, there’s no place for you to go.”

“As long as you don’t have a press that’s reporting the facts, as long as you have a press that has an agenda, we’re in trouble as a nation. You have to find those people in the media that will tell you the truth.”

Dana Bash and Kasie Hunt, two of the reporters who erroneously reported Huckabee’s comments, ended up issuing corrections. Beck concluded, “Mike Huckabee is not a friend. Mike Huckabee is not helpful. But he’s being wronged, and I stand with him.”
