Last week Dr. Ben Carson created a new super PAC called USA First — a self-described grassroots organization aimed at supporting conservative policies and candidates — and this week he is already hinting at a presidential run in 2016, according to an email sent today through the PAC.
Today, the PAC sent out an email in which Carson says he has “decided to answer the call” of participating in electoral politics. He also said he plans on announcing in the coming days to which candidates he and his PAC will devoting their time and money.
At the bottom of the email, Carson even says this is his “biggest step yet into electoral politics.”
Although some politicos say Carson doesn’t have a serious chance at winning the presidency, others aren’t counting him out. Last month, he even named a potential campaign chairman and even a theme. But since the height of his popularity in conservative circles, he’s found himself in some hot water over comments made on various TV appearances.
This message to his supporters only refers to the 2014 midterm elections, but encouraging Carson to participate in political life has been a chore for many over the years. This is yet another significant development in Carson’s road to a potential presidential run.
