Bill Kristol, Weekly Standard editor and stalwart of the failed “Never Trump” movement, went on CNN Wednesday night to decry Trump’s recent campaign shakeup.
The elevation of Breitbart’s Stephen Bannon to a leadership role in Trump’s campaign was effectively the promotion of a “yes man,” who would “reinforce [Trump’s] worst instincts,” Kristol said.
Kristol has been one of Trump’s fiercest conservative critics and, consequently, a reliable punching bag for the pro-Trump Breitbart, which ran a headline calling Kristol a “Republican Spoiler, Renegade Jew.”
Kristol told CNN’s Don Lemon that Breitbart created “its own reality” where Trump and his supporters were always winning and his detractors were always lying or losers and all the polls showing Trump losing (all of them, currently) are phony and rigged.
