Dozens of advertisers have been fleeing The O’Reilly Factor over the last few days, but based on recent ratings, it seems that Bill O’Reilly‘s viewers are sticking with him despite his recent troubles with women.
Approximately 3.8 million people watched O’Reilly’s show on Tuesday. That eclipsed last week where O’Reilly’s top rated show had only 2.3 million viewers.
The Fox host became a flashpoint of intrigue after it was reported that he and 21st Century Fox paid out approximately $13 million to several women who were suing him for sexual harassment. While more than 50 companies have suspended their advertising over these developments, USA Today noted that O’Reilly’s Monday and Tuesday shows had a 14% ratings bump from the previous week.
O’Reilly’s scandal prompted media criticism and calls for his termination from Fox News. The host was, however, defended by President Trump, who told the New York Times “I don’t think Bill did anything wrong,” and that he shouldn’t have settled the lawsuits.
O’Reilly has yet to address the controversy on his show, though Fox News’ Howard Kurtz dedicated a brief segment to it on Sunday’s showing of MediaBuzz.
