Bolton: Trump and Putin Won’t Have Second Summit Until Next Year, After the ‘Russia Witch Hunt is Over’
White House national security adviser John Bolton says they’re scrapping plans to hold another meeting Russia in the foreseeable future.
There was a lot of buzz on Tuesday after Russian officials spoke to the media and apparently rejected President Donald Trump‘s offer to hold another meeting with Vladimir Putin as a follow-up to Helsinki. As it were, Bolton just told reporters that Trump and Putin won’t meet one on one until next year, by which point, the president suspects that the “Russia witch hunt” will be history.
sooo no Putin summit until next year.. @AmbJohnBolton: “The President believes that the next bilateral meeting with President Putin should take place after the Russia witch hunt is over, so we’ve agreed that it will be after the first of the year.”
