Bradley Manning Sentenced to Prison for 35 Years

According to the Associated Press, a judge has sentenced Pfc. Bradley Manning to 35 years in prison for giving U.S. secrets over to WikiLeaks.

Late last month, Manning was found guilty in military court on 15 counts of releasing classified documents. He was, however, acquitted of charges of “aiding the enemy.”

The 25-year-old army private came into trouble after assisting Julian Assange’s transparency website Wikileaks in obtaining classified documents related to American national security starting several years ago.
