The final days of the Obama administration have been marked with questions about whether Chelsea Manning‘s sentence will be commuted. Well, today President Obama granted Manning that commutation.
Manning has been serving a 35-year sentence for leaking classified information, but the commutation now means that her sentence is up this coming May:

There have been a lot of calls for Obama to take this step, most notably from Edward Snowden:
