White House Suspends Jim Acosta’s Press Credentials

The White House has suspended the press credentials of CNN’s Jim Acosta following today’s testy press conference clash with President Donald Trump.

During the heated exchange, Trump said this after ordering him to put down the mic: “I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person, you shouldn’t be working for CNN.”

CNN fired back a statement afterward saying Trump has gone “too far.”

After that statement was announced, the White House decided to take it one step further.

In a statement, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders blamed the suspension of privileges on Acosta placing his hands on a young woman.

“President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration. We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern,” Sanders wrote.

She added: “This conduct is absolutely unacceptable. It is also completely disrespectful to the reporter’s colleagues not to allow them an opportunity to ask a question. President Trump has given the press more access than any President in history.”

She also noted that the fact that CNN is proud of Acosta is “disgusting.”

Acosta’s privileges, according to Sanders has been suspended until further notice.

The CNN reporter also tweeted out that he was denied entrance to the White House for his 8 pm hit and a video of his interaction with Secret Service.
