Bret Michaels Defends Trump Against Seinfeld: For Charity There Is ‘No Room For Political Rhetoric’
Earlier it was discovered that comedian Jerry Seinfeld pulled out of appearing at a charity event sponsored by Donald Trump‘s son, because Seinfeld was uncomfortable with Trump’s “demagoguery” over questioning President Obama’s citizenship. Not only did singer and prior Celebrity Apprentice winner Bret Michaels step up to replace Seinfeld, but now he is publicly defending Trump and criticizing Seinfeld.
“Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is one of my favorite charities. . . . We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs — and when it comes to saving the life of a child, there is absolutely no room for political rhetoric. Regardless of political views, the only thing that should matter is the lives of these children and their families, so I’m eager to offer my assistance to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in any way that I can.”
Trump has a long history of feuding with celebrities and it looks like now Seinfeld could be added to the list. Yet if Trump does really run for President, might it be politically wise for him to refrain from making public enemies of such well-known and “beloved” celebrities?
