Brian Williams Gets Flak on Twitter for ‘Plowed Over’ Remark During Nice Coverage
If you’re wondering why MSNBC’s Brian Williams is a top trend on Twitter right now, this is why.
See, as 8:00 approached, Williams––covering the attack in Nice––said a little lightly he “plowed over” Chris Matthews‘ timeslot.
But given the truck that killed people in France today, people on Twitter found his choice of words just really, really bad:
Crap! Now Brian Williams makes some sick pun about "plowing over" an hour of news. @MSNBC please get rid of him

Brian Williams just said “we just plowed over our coverage” about the Trump VP thing. Bad word choices since Nice is still breaking news.

Brian Williams saying that they "plowed over" Chris Matthews show is beyond a poor choice of words.

After huge truck crushes well over100+ people in Nice, Brian Williams just said on air:"we have just plowed over the 8pm hour. #NiceFrance

Brian Williams said "we plowed over" the airtime for Chris Matthews. He had been talking about what happened in France earlier. Not good.

Please tell me I didn't hear @MSNBC's Brian Williams, just out of exile, say "plowed over" while covering #NiceAttack pic.twitter.com/nDVsRNNdiS

"We have just plowed over the normal hour" I'm almost impressed Brian Williams can make his continued employment worse.

Atrocious clod Brian Williams, once again bringing left, right & center together in teeth-gritting agony. https://t.co/U8FwG06qFt

Some people were also critical of Williams for reading some of Trump’s Nice tweets on air.
