‘Can’t Fox News Read It?’ The Simpsons Zing Trump’s First 100 Days

The Simpsons, coming off their 30 year anniversary, are staying as relevant as ever as they take on Donald Trump and the first 100 days of his presidency.

The show released a teaser for their new episode on Wednesday night, and in the cartoon world, things aren’t exactly going so well for the new administration. The clip begins with a cartoon Sean Spicer having committed suicide in the White House Briefing Room, which prompts Kellyanne Conway to run away before she has to replace him as Press Secretary.

After a look at the literal power struggle between Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner, the show turns to Trump as he reflects on accomplishments like getting a lot of new Twitter followers. An aide asks Trump to review a bill to lower taxes for Republicans, but Trump asks “can’t Fox News read it and I’ll watch what they say?

Things aren’t so great in the Simpsons household either. Marge has already exhausted her supply of Prozac for the next four years, and Grandpa Simpson is being taken into custody by ICE agents. The show points out that there’s no need to panic though, because at 100 days, the Trump term is officially 6.8 percent of the way done.

The Simpsons have previously engaged in commentary about Trump’s presidency, and maybe saw all of this coming more than 16 years ago.
