Carol Costello Issues Powerful Rebuke to Trump: I ‘Was Sexually Harassed in My 20s’

CostelloCNN’s Carol Costello issued a strong rejoinder to Donald Trump and Eric Trump‘s comments brushing aside sexual harassment in the workplace as something that wouldn’t happen to a strong woman.

The GOP nominee said Tuesday that his daughter Ivanka “would find another career or find another company” if she were harassed in the office; his son Eric said that strong, powerful women wouldn’t be subjected to that kind of treatment.

“As a strong and powerful woman who was sexually harassed in my 20s, I say that’s not true,” Costello said Wednesday morning. “Anyone can be harassed. I wish I could have left my job, but frankly at the time I needed the money. And I loved my job. It’s also scary to report abuse. I feared being blackballed in my field. That’s why I did not report it.”

Costello concluded by praising former Fox anchor Gretchen Carlson, whose allegations against the network’s founder Roger Ailes resulted in a deluge of similar complaints and the CEO’s eventual ouster. “You’re one courageous lady,” Costello said.
