Catholic League Head Calls CNN Hypocrites for Piece on ‘Lavish’ Church Homes
Catholic League head William Donohue thinks that CNN is being rather hypocritical with a piece online titled “The lavish homes of American archbishops.” The piece contrasts Pope Francis‘ call for a less “superficial” church with how some Catholic archbishops like to live.
Donohue mocks how shocked CNN appears to be over these “rebels” that live in rather opulent homes, including New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan.
But Donohue is rather perturbed, and says that CNN “need[s] to turn their cameras on themselves.” He finds it hypocritical that CNN reporters can do an exposé like that while the executives who own CNN make a ton of money. He also says CNN is in no place to talk about income inequality with a huge gap in the salaries of its executives and employees like media coordinators and associate producers.
