Earlier today it was first reported that a few members of the World Series champion Chicago Cubs might make it to New York to appear on Saturday Night Live.
For baseball fans who tuned in to NBC tonight, they got their wish in the form of a Magic Mike-type of dance sketch.
Centerfielder Dexter Fowler, first baseman Anthony Rizzo and soon-to-be-retired veteran catcher David Ross (whose solo home run in Game 7 helped lift the Cubs) lent their talents to the sketch, which consisted of booty popping directly in the face of castmember Aidy Bryant, playing a grandmother who went the way of Bernie Lomax.
“We’re about to pull a triple-header,” Rizzo says seductively to cheers from the Studio 8H crowd.
