One way to become a relatively popular politician is to go after issues in a way most people can agree on: The “Puppies are Cute” platform, for instance, is always advisable, as is the view that “Reality Show Vets are Kinda Slimy, Eh?” And, now, we all know where New Jersey Governor Chris Christie stands on the latter issue.
Governor Christie has suspended two members of the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission for questionable behavior – including Albert Manzo, husband of Real Housewives of New Jersey castmember Caroline Manzo.
The Governor is claiming that Manzo lied about his place of residence when he told officials that he lived in a brownstone in Paterson, New Jersey. (It’s a familiar place to RHOJ fans: You may recall, if you, unlike me, watch the show religiously, that Teresa once yelled, “Don’t forget, girlfriend. I’m from PATERSON!” before Weavegate, as an indication that she’s tough and ready to fight.) On the show, however, Manzo is shown living in his rather massive family home in Franklin Lakes – a New Jersey borough that happens to boast the 18th-highest per-capita income of the state’s 566 municipalities.
Manzo defended his claim by saying that he often stay at an apartment in Paterson overnight. Really, who wouldn’t want to stay at an apartment in Paterson when you have a huge home in Franklin Lakes?
