CNN President Jeff Zucker went off on Fox News at a talk on Thursday, slamming the rival network as a “propaganda machine,” that “does an incredible disservice to this country.”
Speaking at the Financial Times Future of News event before a room packed with media reporters, Zucker went on a tear against the network.
“It is really state-run TV, it is a pure propaganda machine, and does an incredible disservice to this country,” Zucker said, according to Daily Beast reporter Max Tani:

Zucker reportedly said the network has undergone “shocking” change since the departure of its late chief Roger Ailes, before comparing Fox News to Russian propaganda:
Zucker on Fox News, compares the network Russia propaganda: “It has just turned itself over to state-run TV, and TASS has nothing on them. “

CNN’s Brian Stelter reported that Zucker backed Col. Ralph Peters — the Fox News analyst who resigned this month with a scathing email to colleagues slamming the network as propaganda — saying that he “spoke the truth.”

“There are a handful of good journalists there, but I think they are lost in what is a complete propaganda machine,” he added. “And the idea that they are a news channel is not the case at all.”
