CNN Removes iReport About Impending Asteroid Collision

CNN’s iReports are a great way for people to submit bits of news from their area and get some attention for it. Of course, you’ll get the occasional troll here and there, but none of their posts get approved, right? Well, actually, a trolltastic article about an asteroid heading for the earth was featured as an iReport before CNN took it down.

Here’s how the post originally looked:

And here’s part of what it said.

The asteroid is calculated to have a potentially lethal encounter with the Earth on March 35, 2041. Astronomers have placed the odds of an impact at 1 in 2.04, which is by far the most unprecedented risk ever faced to humanity, let alone from asteroids. Such an impact could potentially end civilization as we know it.

Anyway, here’s what shows up now:

Well, as long as we’re talking about asteroids, has anyone considered the possibility MH370 floated out into the ether of space? CNN should get on that.
