CNN reporter Lisa Desjardins was one of several laid off by the cable news network due to cutbacks. And yesterday she posted a bittersweet YouTube video with a fond farewell, saying, “It is not easy to say goodbye.”
With some lighthearted sentiments and two word clouds mixed in, Desjardins gave a very sincere “thank you” to CNN and everyone she’s had the pleasure of working with there.
One thing that makes the video really sad is Desjardins lamenting how CNN is “cutting back on congressional coverage” (she was a Capitol Hill correspondent for the network). But there are some amusing moments here and there, like when Desjardins throws a few office supplies in her back and gives special thanks to President Chester A. Arthur and Redskins owner Dan Snyder at the end.
Oh, and she apologized for the lack of ginger diversity on CNN.
