CNN’s Cuomo Battles Lewandowski in Fiery Debate Over Trump-Mueller Sitdown: ‘Man Up and Do It!’
Let’s get after it.
CNN’s Chris Cuomo and former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski threw down in a heated clash on Cuomo Prime Time Monday. The topic? Whether or not the president should sit down with special counsel Robert Mueller.
“This Mueller investigation has had the opportunity now to interview everybody,” Lewandowski said. “To talk to everybody.”
“Except him,” Cuomo said. “Except the man in the middle.”
“But the president didn’t do anything, Chris,” Lewandowski said.
“I’m not saying he did, but then why wouldn’t he talk to Mueller?” Cuomo shot back.
The CNN host then dared Trump directly.
“If you’ve got nothing to hide, you talk,” Cuomo said. “How many times has he said, ‘I want to sit down with Mueller?’ So do it. Man up and do it!”
Lewandowski suggested that Trump would love nothing more. Only, his gosh darn lawyers are getting in the way.
“I’ve spoken to the president on numerous occasions where he’s told me he has wanted to sit down with Mueller,” Lewandowski said. “But he’s listening to his attorneys.”
Cuomo was incredulous.
“Since when?” The host said. He added, “You don’t think his legal counsel is telling him to do things all the time and he doesn’t listen? Come on, Corey.”
