CNN’s Gloria Borger: Trump Only Called On Murdoch-Owned Outlets in Joint News Conference
Following a joint news conference by President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, CNN political analyst Gloria Borger made an astute observation about which media outlets Trump called upon to take questions.
After noting that we weren’t really given any clear answers regarding Trump’s travel ban and the steps he’s going to take following the appeals court decision, Borger noted that the president seemed to be trying to end the conference early. Also, the only American media outlets he took questions from were owned by Rupert Murdoch.
“I might also add here that, number one, he seemed to be trying to end this press conference kind of a couple of times,” she said. “And the only American outlets that were called upon were owned by Rupert Murdoch. They were Fox Business and the New York Post.”
She went on to explain that this has happened again and again in the daily White House press briefings while further observing that no questions were asked about National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
It was reported earlier that Murdoch secretly sat in on the wide-ranging Times of London interview conducted with Trump last month.
