The Republican National Committee’s Sean Spicer made his views about the FBI’s recommendation not to indict Hillary Clinton today. Just as FBI Director James Comey said, lots of people have had and will have opinions about her emails, but “opinions are irrelevant.”
Some things, however, are not opinions. Some things are facts. Two indisputable facts are that Clinton has been running for president for over a year and that news anchors definitely know that already. When Spicer came a little out-of-pocket to somehow conclude that CNN’s Kate Bolduan didn’t know that, she put him right back in his place.
She was pushing him on whether he trusted the FBI or felt that he knew better than they did. He hesitated, tried to turn the topic back to Clinton, and was asked again by Bolduan.
“This is someone who wants to be President, Kate!” he exclaimed.
“I — thank you. I know,” she said curtly, effectively shutting down an interview subject who thought she wasn’t aware of what Hillary Clinton has been up to for the past few months.
Eventually, Spicer admitted that “it sounds like” the FBI was fair and did their job.
