CNN’s Zakaria: Rise in Bigoted Attacks on Me Coincided with Rise of Trump
CNN’s Fareed Zakaria told radio host Dean Obeidallah yesterday that the uptick in racist, bigoted attacks against him happened to “coincide with the rise of Donald Trump.”
He recalled recent efforts to discredit or attack him on his race, religion, and national origin, including a fake news report people believed claiming he called for the “jihad rape of white women.”
He said that it used to be 2-5 percent of comments that attacked him like that, but in the last year and a half, it’s now 15 percent.
And Zakaria declared, “He has encouraged, legitimized, and facilitated a lot of his kind of conversation.”
Major Trump supporter Ann Coulter recently attacked Zakaria for daring to criticize America “in a thick Indian accent.”
