Conan O’Brien Says He Doesn’t Typically Share His Opinions, But Orlando Shooting Is Last Straw

Conan O’Brien opened his show last night by talking about the massacre that took place at a gay nightclub in Orlando. Although throughout his career he has refrained from giving his personal opinion on various stories as he relays them, he revealed that he can no longer stay quiet on the subject of guns and mass shootings.

Like John Oliver did on Sunday night, he seemed downright scornful when he talked about how he is expected to make jokes at a time like this. Also like Oliver, he even disparaged his show and its function.

Watch above to see him admit that he is no expert and doesn’t know what to do, but that as a father, he is also horrified and frustrated to the point of no longer being able to contain his feelings.
