Cruz Poses with Real and Fake Pigs to Make Point About Gov’t Pork
Senator Ted Cruz posed with a real pig and stood by a fake one today as part of an effort by a fiscally conservative group to raise concerns about pork-barrel politics in Washington. The president of Citizens Against Government Waste announced the findings of the group’s “Pig Book” today on the hill, and just to really make the metaphor stick, there was an actual pig on hand, as well as someone dressed in a life-sized pig suit.
Cruz was at the event along with John McCain, and he got a photo op with the real pig, named Churchill.
Too bad our government's pork problem isn't as cute as this fella. pic.twitter.com/L3Q3QtfXDw

And during the official announcement, Cruz and McCain were flanked by someone in a pig suit.

But Arizona Senator Jeff Flake did Cruz one better by actually taking a selfie with the pig.

Man, this country has really gone to the hogs.
