Especially in the wake of how the 2016 election cycle has shaken out, nothing about Daniel Radcliffe‘s story that he shared Monday night should come as a surprise.
While chatting with Seth Meyers on Late Night, the British actor revealed that minutes before his first ever live television interview — at only eleven-years-old — the then Harry Potter actor met the real estate mogul backstage at the NBC TODAY show.
“It was my first time in New York,” Radcliffe recounted. “I had some concept of who he was, but not really.”
But when the young actor revealed to Trump that he was nervous to be making his first ever television appearance, the future Presidential candidate imparted a wonderful piece of advice. “You just tell them you met Mr. Trump!” boasted the man himself.
“I can’t even relate to that level of confidence,” Radcliffe, the star of the new play Privacy, admitted Monday night, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
