British aid worker David Haines was beheaded by ISIS in a horrible new video put out by the terrorist group. His brother Michael Haines spoke out this weekend and said he doesn’t believe the Muslim faith is to blame for ISIS’ brutal acts.
The British Foreign Office put out a statement from Haines on behalf of the family, speaking of how “alive and enthusiastic” David was when helping other people. He writes, “His joy and anticipation for the work he went to do in Syria is for myself and family the most important element of this whole sad affair. He was and is loved by all his family and will be missed terribly.”
But in televised remarks, Haines’ brother said, “The Muslim faith is not to blame for ISIL, nor is it the fault of people of Middle Eastern descent.” He extended an open hand to any religious individual who “respects the rights of all,” and even quoted a verse from the Qu’ran.
