De Blasio Praises NYPD for Arresting Man Who Threatened to Kill Cops

A Queens man was arrested Thursday after he was overheard in a bank talking about killing police officers.

The NYPD was able to track down 39-year-old Elvin Payamps from descriptions given by another bank customer. He was pulled over about a mile away, and at his home police found multiple weapons.

Payamps is at least the sixth to be arrested in New York City for threatening cops after two NYPD officers were slain ambush-style in Bedstuy last Saturday.

Gotham Mayor Bill de Blasio, whose already-frayed relation with police was significantly worsened by the shooting last weekend, praised the NYPD and the tipster:
