In the past 48 hours, there’s been a bunch of reports about how many Democrats want Debbie Wasserman Schultz to step down as DNC chair in the interest of party unity and bringing in fresh blood. Well, Wasserman Schultz was asked about those reports earlier tonight.
She said, “We are 60 days from the Democratic National Convention and we are singularly focused on putting on the best political convention America has ever seen, that will launch our eventual nominee to the White House.”
The Bernie Sanders campaign has been expressing many frustrations lately with the head of the party, including accusations that she has a clear pro-Hillary Clinton bias and is too much a part of the corrupt establishment they’re fighting.
In fact, Sanders himself has indicated that if he gets to be the nominee, he’ll replace her. Oh, and he supports her Democratic primary opponent.
