Dem Sen. Landrieu Tells Critics of Keg Stand Assist to ‘Get a Life’
Until this week, the phrase “a U.S. senator helped a football fan do a keg stand” would have been too ridiculous to ever print. But Democrat Mary Landrieu (who’s currently in a very competitive fight for reelection) did just that this week.
Needless to say, some people obviously found it a bit odd that a sitting senator would be engaging in that kind of fun activity (it’s worth noting, just for sh*ts and giggles, that John Kerry was once offered a beer bong at a football game).
Landrieu spoke out about the criticism yesterday and told people to just get over it:
“They need to get a sense of humor, and they need to get a life — it’s just the way we roll,” Landrieu said in response to a question at a news conference…
Landrieu went on to note that the fan was a 28-year-old alumnus with a master’s degree in business.
“So, I think he can make decisions for himself what he’d like to do,” she said. “I thought I did pretty well by not doing it myself, and helping him.”
(Begging the question of if the Senate has secret keggers we don’t know about.)
