Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell‘s office announced on Monday that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will brief all one hundred members of the U.S. Senate on Thursday about the firing of FBI Director James Comey:

Four days earlier, many media outlets reported that Rosenstein came close to resigning over President Donald Trump‘s move against Comey. However, both the White House and the Justice Department denied that this was the case.
The deputy attorney general later confirmed that he wasn’t resigning in a brief May 12 interview.
