Don Lemon: ESPN Should Apologize to Trump Once POTUS Apologizes to Obama for Birtherism

Don Lemon says that if Donald Trump wants Jemele Hill to apologize so much, maybe the president can say he’s sorry to Barack Obama for fueling birtherism.

TMZ caught up with the CNN anchor in order to ask about the Administration’s war with ESPN ever since Hill called Trump a “white supremacist.” When asked if the sports network should address the situation, Lemon argued that ESPN has already done so, and Trump has defamed plenty of people in his time.

“I think when the president worked for NBC at The Apprentice, and he said that Barack Obama was not born here, and he called Barack Obama a racist, if he apologizes for that, then maybe ESPN should apologize.”

The White House has cast its ire towards ESPN for how they handled the aftermath of Hill’s statement, and Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has spoken about how the remarks were a “fireable offense.”
