Donald Sterling’s Wife: No, He’s Not Racist, Just a Very Jealous Man
Hey, remember Donald Sterling? Well, that whole mess subsided weeks ago, with the L.A. Clippers officially being sold and Sterling done fighting the whole thing in court. But his wife Shelly Sterling gave an interview to the AP in which she opened up about the sale and her husband’s racist remarks.
Sterling offered some words of praise for new team owner Steve Ballmer, the former head of Microsoft. She said Ballmer actually ended up getting the Clippers for a good price, said “he’d be good for the league,” and called Ballmer a very “passionate” man (this, we already knew).
As for her husband’s racist ramblings, Sterling believes he was baited, but surmised that rather than actually believing that racist nonsense, “he was jealous of something.” What something? The fact that his supposed girlfriend (who is now claiming he’s gay for some reason) brought much better-looking men to his games. And so he was upset about that, but didn’t articulate it in the best way.
