Dozens Killed, Over 100 Injured in Bombings of Two Coptic Churches in Egypt

Coptic Christians in Egypt were targeted once again today, with dozens of people killed and injured in bombings this morning at Coptic churches in Tanta and Alexandria on Palm Sunday.

Reuters reports that at least 44 people were killed and over 100 more were injured in the bombings. According to multiple reports, ISIS has claimed credit for the bombings.

President Trump put out a statement earlier today on the attacks:

There was another Coptic church bombing last December that killed and injured dozens––ISIS claimed credit for that as well––and just last month Human Rights Watch wrote about how hundreds of Coptic Christian families in Egypt were fleeing their homes because they were “fearing for their lives in the wake of seven murders between January 30 and February 23.”
