Eddie Griffin: New Cosby Charges ‘Effort to Destroy Every Black Male Entertainer’s Image’

New Cosby Charges 'Effort to Destroy Every Black Male Entertainer’s Image'

Stand-up comedian Eddie Griffin thinks the renewed interest in allegations of sexual misconduct and rape against Bill Cosby are part of a larger effort to discredit all black male entertainers.

Per All Hip Hop, Griffin sat down with VladTV to discuss his career and the subject of Cosby’s recent arraignment, bail and release came up. That’s when Griffin launched into his take on the whole matter, which included his theory about why African-American males were seemingly always being targeted.

The first part of his Cosby defense included references to the 1970s, which was “a different time.”

“The ’70s… motherf*ckers all had coke spoons around their f*cking necklace. You’d got to the damn disco and they’d get the lines laid out on the table,” he explained. “You want to level out after a hit of cocaine, you get a Quaalude.”

“Did he rape these b*tches? All of them said the same thing! ‘We went to the room.’ Why would you go to the room of a known married man?”

Griffin and the VladTV host then assert that all of the women accusing Cosby of rape were “down to f*ck,” but that wasn’t all the stand-up was irritated about. That’s when he launched into his argument that everything about the renewed allegations against Cosby were part of a much larger conspiracy.

“There is a systematic effort to destroy every black male entertainer’s image. They want us all to have a white asterisk by our name,” he said. “Nobody leaves this business clean.”

“You’re not going to die clean,” Griffin added.

Both Griffin and the host emphasized Cosby’s body of work, as well has his once-venerated generosity towards education — be it establishing scholarships, paying for individuals’ schooling and so forth. That these items were now being sullied by the allegations and charges seemed to really anger them, especially Griffin.

“And now some pussy is supposed to tear this all down!” he shouted at one point.
