Elizabeth Warren Mocks Trump for Calling Her ‘Goofy’: I Thought You Were ‘Good With Words’

Since Hillary Clinton has avoided getting too sharp in her attacks against Donald Trump, Elizabeth Warren has picked up the mantle and has been one of the top politicians publicly ridiculing The Donald.

Warren and Trump have gotten into some Twitter back-and-forths, and Warren told Mic in an interview today that a Trump presidency would just be another one where only “a thin slice at the top” benefits.

She made a broader pitch about a government that works more for the people than for lobbyists before being asked about Trump calling her “goofy.”

She said her reaction was, “Really? That’s the best you can come up with? Come on? I thought Donald Trump was a guy who said he was good with words!”

Trump apparently heard and fired back, leading to another tweetstorm from Warren:

UPDATE — 4:31 p.m. EST:

Predictably, Trump has responded to Warren’s response to him. Here is what he has said about her within the last hour or so:
