According to Erin Andrews, there is no official romance between her and “Dancing With the Stars” partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
This bit of info comes courtesy of SI.com’s Jimmy Traina, who interviewed Andrews, and decided to run it early in his for the must-read Extra Mustard section after this People magazine cover was released.
Although Andrews skilfully dodges any official statement regarding her relationship with Maks, she did, “thank People for letting us know about this hot romance because we didn’t know we had it.”
Besides potentially crushing the dreams of people who believe that true love can be found on dance-based reality television, Andrews also responded to criticism that “Dancing” undermines her credibility as a reporter:
I don’t know what damage I’m doing. I’m basically killing myself to not embarrass myself. I’ve been in the top three in scoring each week, behind an athlete and a professional dancer and singer. I’m not sure what damage I created for myself. What am I doing to be a bimbo? I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.
Sidenote: it’s interesting that SI is calling out People on prematurely trumpeting Andrews’ and Chmerkovskiy’s “hot romance”, considering both mags are owned by Time Inc. Sibling print publication fightttttt!
