FL Candidate Touts Fake Obama Endorsement, Claims He Thought It Was Real

A Florida candidate touted an endorsement from President Obama online that wasn’t actually real. It was fake and riddled with typos, but he claims he thought it was a real endorsement. Derrick Wallace is running for Orange County Commission and was touting an endorsement that looked like this:

Doesn’t that look exactly like a letter the President of the United States would sent a local Florida candidate? Especially with “accomadate” and “node” and Democrat not being capitalized.

But Wallace was touting it on his Facebook page, and when confronted, he claimed he had no idea it wasn’t real. He said, “I was so happy to get that from the president that I posted it.”

He even went so far as to say it may have been a set-up by his political opponents.
