Senator Chris Murphy kicked off a filibuster this afternoon to take a stand on gun control after expressing his frustrations with nothing getting done for years. He declared, “I’ve had enough.”
The Connecticut Democrat has been a passionate voice for gun restrictions since Sandy Hook, and so he is filibustering an appropriations bill in the name of forcing Congress to debate background checks and whether people on the terror watch list should be able to get guns.

He declared, “I’m prepared to stand on this floor and talk about the need for this body to come together on keeping terrorists away from getting guns, through those two measures, for frankly as long as I can.”
Other Democrats have been popping up to express their support.
