Former Thai Navy SEAL Dies While Working on Rescue Mission to Save Soccer Team Stranded in Cave
A former Thai Navy SEAL who was working on the ongoing rescue mission to save a boys soccer team had sacrificed his life.
As reported by The Washington Post, The commander of the Thai Navy SEAL confirmed during a press conference on Friday morning that the SEAL was found unconscious after he himself ran out of oxygen as he laid out oxygen tanks to assist the team with their escape from the cave. He was transferred to a hospital when his body was discovered but was confirmed dead upon arrival. Fox News’ Ed Henry reports that he served in a volunteer capacity.
This adds another layer complexity and anxiety to the mission as the young boys trapped in the cave are reportedly learning how to swim and dive as continuous rain may further flood their surroundings.
