Fox News Contributor’s Tweetstorm Defends African American Colleagues From Viewer Hate

Guy Benson, a Fox News contributor who has been filling in for Eric Bolling on The Specialists this week, took to Twitter to provide an impassioned defense of his African-American colleagues in the face of hate from viewers.

The conservative commentator tweeted a video of two Fox News contributors getting emotional on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning over President Donald Trump’s shocking press conference from Tuesday, in which he defended white supremacist protestors in Charlottesville.

Benson compared that response to the “Twitter meltdown among some viewers” he saw to the monologue given by his Specialists co-host Eboni Williams on Trump’s presser. “This is the embarrassing, childish snowflakery they think they detest,” he wrote of viewers, before arguing that though they profess to oppose “safe spaces,” what “they really want is an echo chamber that never challenges their beliefs”:

Benson finished the thread by arguing that it’s “cynical & gross to question POC’s visceral and emotional response,” and pointing out that “before crucifying them, actually take a moment to reflect on whether you might learn something valuable from them”:
