Comedian George Carlin‘s numerous political routines and social commentaries have long since become classics of American stand-up. Hence why, when the late comedian’s daughter Kelly Carlin visited Larry King‘s Ora TV program, the host decided to ask about what George would say about the 2016 presidential election cycle.
King specifically wanted to know what Carlin would have thought or said about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“Dad used to say to us, ‘When you’re born, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you’re born in America, you get a front row seat,” said Kelly.
“Guess what people?” she continued. “The freak show is alive and well in America today. He would be having fun with it.”
During Carlin’s latter career, when the stand-up comedian began dressing almost exclusively in all-black, his most passionate routines revolved around American politics. Yet trying to find a single clip that encapsulates his comedy is impossible, so the best you can do is skim through YouTube videos with the key words “George Carlin” and “politics.” Enjoy.
