Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera made an emotional plea with his longtime buddy Donald Trump live on air Friday morning on Fox & Friends: “For God’s sake, stop giving ammo to your enemy!”
While many have opined that the field is rich for the Republican nominee to do some damage against Democratic party challenger Hillary Clinton, it seems as if Trump is unable to keep out of his own way. Since the conclusion of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia last week ,the real estate icon turned politicians has made gaffe after gaffe, pinning the headlines on his barrage of mistakes rather than on issues that serve his purpose.
Rivera, who admittedly has known Donald Trump for a long time, told the Fox & Friends cohosts Friday, “I feel like picking up the phone and saying, ‘Come on, shut up!’ Just get yourself back on track. You’ve got yourself way off base.”
He continued by saying the GOP nominee is in, “a swaggering reckless phase,” identifying the unforced errors that Trump continues to bring on himself.
“He’s a very charismatic person, he’s a very intelligent person. He is, in his business, a very disciplined person,” said Rivera Friday morning. But, as with the controversy surrounding the Khan family, Trump, “should’ve let it go” and moved on.
